# Roles & permissions

# Roles & permissions

Workspace roles provide a starting point for access. Administrators can adjust individual grants where supported.

## Default roles

| Role           | Typical responsibility                                                  |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Admin** | Workspace settings, team, billing, privacy, and full operational access |
| **Manager** | Day-to-day operations, team workflows, and most settings |
| **Accountant** | Billing, transactions, settlements, and commercial decisions |
| **Associate** | Work with assigned leads and transactions |

## Access areas

Permissions can cover:

* workspace settings
* team management
* billing and settlements
* viewing, editing, and delivering leads
* viewing and editing transactions
* complaint decisions
* audit log access
* privacy requests and suppression
* viewing or applying Airlead AI proposals

## Assign access safely

1. Start with the role closest to the teammate's actual work.
2. Grant billing, privacy, audit, and team administration only when required.
3. Separate transaction review from complaint decisions when your process requires approval.
4. Review access after role changes and offboarding.
5. Use the audit log to investigate sensitive actions.

## If an action is missing

Check:

1. the active workspace
2. the teammate's role and individual grants
3. whether the workspace uses Markets or Company Platform
4. whether the plan includes the feature

A permission alone cannot make a feature available in a workspace type or plan that does not include it.
